Power-by-light technology is based on using light for delivering energy in optical fiber or in free space. Replacing electrical wire with optical fiber brings benefits in applications such as in sensing at high-voltage environment or passing energy through a hazardous environment. Fiber light weight, immunity to electromagnetic fields, and built-in high data communication rate are benefits of this technology.

At the heart of power-by-light and power-over-fiber technologies is a photovoltaic converter that converts light to electricity. We at Winse Power design and manufacture our own semiconductor materials and photovoltaic converter chips that convert light to electricity at the highest possible efficiency.
